Luke and Josh were in a science club this year, and as part of the club, they both did science projects. Each of them did a project with a friend, so we worked on two projects. (Note to self: Next year make them work together so that Mom only has one project to help with instead of two.) Josh and his friend Heidi did a project on growing salt and sugar crystals, and Luke and his friend Luke (how's that for confusing) did one on making electromagnets. Shane helped with that one, thank you Honey!! Here are some of their pictures:
I can't seem to find where I put Luke's pictures. He and Shane made their magnets with copper-coated wires and nails. They got to use a drill to wrap the wire around the nail, and then hooked the wires to a battery and tried to pick up washers. Those two boys had a great time seeing how many washers they could pick up.
The science fair was kind of nice to do in that the projects weren't graded, and everyone who participated got a ribbon. There was no 1st place, 2nd place, no place. Maybe we can even do this again next year. =>
