Mosquitos

Shane came home tonight from planting, and Josh noticed that he smelled like mosquito spray. He asked Shane about it, and this was the conversation.

Shane: I had to spray myself 3 times because the mosquitos kept biting me. I had one the size of a nickel on me.

Josh: (His jaw drops) Really?

Shane: (With that mischievious smile) Yeah, well, sort of. Then I squished him and blood went everywhere. Mosquitos only bite once and then they go and lay eggs. But the daddies don't bite, only the mothers bite.

Josh: (laughing) Mom, are you going to suck my blood?

Mom: I don't know. Are you juicy?

Josh: No, I don't think so.

Luke: I'm not juicy! (pause) Only part juicy. But Parker's juicy!

We all had a good laugh, and then Josh asked me if we could look up mosquitos on the internet tomorrow to see how big they can get. I think he's imagining nickel sized mosquitos and how much blood they can suck out of you. As I tucked him into bed he was talking about football sized mosquitos. I just love kids imagination!!!
