Remember When It Rained....

One thing that has been so interesting here is the difference in the intensity of storms. Idaho had some good storms, but they weren't as frequent as here, at least at this time of year. We have had lightning storms where the lightning is coming at least every second, and more often, several times a second. This doesn't just happen for a minute or two, either. It happens continuously for at least 10 minutes, and usually more. It is truly awesome to see and experience.

The rain is also pretty intense. Sometimes it just softly falls, and other times it truly pours. Last night was a "pour" night. There were reports that with the rain there could be up to quarter or half-dollar sized hail. Ours was only about dime size, but still fun to watch come down. We got some video to try and capture the experience, and when the rain stopped, the gutters were small rivers that the kids couldn't resist playing in, even though they were in p.j.s and ready for bed.
