The Zoo, Painting, and Tee-Ball

Well, this past week has flown by and we have a lot that happened. Summer is going way too fast, and I don't seem to keep up the blog as well as I should. So here are some highlights of the last little bit.

Shane took the kids fishing to a place called Recharge Lake. They all were able to catch something, and Shane didn't seem too frazzled when he got home. If we keep things up, eventually the kids will be able to fix their own poles one day and Shane can only help every once in a while instead of constantly. Then maybe he can fish, too.

My Mom and Dad came from Idaho to spend the week with us, and we were able to do a couple of fun things while they were here. We went to the zoo in Lincoln, which wasn't too bad for a small zoo. It was our first time there, so we weren't sure what to expect, but it was kinda fun. We planned to spend 2 hours there, and that's about what it took to go through the place. My niece Kendyl was able to come to visit with us too, which Kaitlin was really excited about. She's the extra one in the pictures. In the first one it's hard to tell which one in the picture is the monkey =>, and the second picture is all of the kids in a life-sized eagle's nest.

While my mom was here, she made the mistake of asking if there was anything I wanted her to do. I told her that I would love it if she would help me do something fun for Kaitlin's room. After 2 days of painting, she may have been sorry that she asked, but the room turned out really cool! Kaitlin was very happy, and I really love how it turned out. Thanks again, Mom, for being willing to get into such an involved project. Kaitlin and I really appreciate it. And thanks, Mom and Dad, for coming all this way to see us. We loved having you here!

I would try to do some of these things myself, but having small children precludes some of these projects. For example, while mom and I were painting, Tanner snuck into the room, grabbed a paintbrush full of paint that we had set to the side, painted the wall where we were painting, then painted both sides of the bathroom door before I even knew that he had the paint brush at all. Lucky for him, we were able to clean it all up, as it hadn't dried yet. As of today, he is still alive.

Mom and Dad also got to see Josh and Luke's first tee-ball games. They only had one practice and are still getting the hang of things, but it was kind of fun to watch.
